Tampa, FL

Tourist Attractions Provide Adventures for Everyone.

Visitors to Tampa, Florida will eventually notice one thing - the city’s diversity. Data from the year 2000 census indicated that Tampa is one of the top five most diverse, integrated urban areas in the country, citing that approximately 10% of the 300,000 residents have a Latino heritage. Tampa is located in Hillsborough County which is part of the greater Tampa Bay area also encompassing Pasco, Pinellas, and Hernando counties. Situated on the West Coast of Florida, Tampa is an ideal hotspot for travelers looking for activities, attractions and adventures on Florida's Gulf Coast.

Tampa boasts an average year-round temperature of 72 degrees, making the city ideal for tourists who enjoy outdoor activities. For a fun family outing, visitors and residents alike head for the internationally renown theme park, Busch Gardens. Situated in the northeastern portion of Tampa, Busch Gardens is a wildlife-themed adventure park complete with roller coasters, fine dining, games, and sightseeing tours. Right across the street is Adventure Island, another theme park owned by Anheiser Busch. Adventure Island is open from March through October and features a wide array of water slides, whirlpools, and other water-themed attractions.

Visitors to Tampa are sure to get a kick out of Ybor City. Located near Tampa’s downtown district, Ybor City is a cultural hotbed by day and a “party zone” by night. Ybor City is often referred to as Florida’s Latin Quarter, and offers a cigar museum, clubs, bars, shopping, and dining. During the day, tourists can watch an authentic Cuban cigar roller at work and walk down historic 7th Avenue and take in the sights. After nightfall, Ybor City’s many nightclubs and tattoo parlors come to life, reminiscent of New Orleans’s Bourbon Street. Be sure to try an authentic Cuban sandwich before you leave Ybor City - you won’t regret it.

Once visitors have experienced Ybor City, they can hop on the trolley and head over to the Channelside District, near the Port of Tampa. The Channelside District offers visitors many fine dining and shopping options, as well as an art museum, nightclubs, an IMAX theater, and The Florida Aquarium. For sports fans, The Channelside District also includes the St. Pete Times Forum, the home of the Tampa Bay Lightning. If football is more your speed, The Raymond James Stadium is located on Dale Mabry Highway, just a short drive from the Channelside District.

The Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center, located in Downtown Tampa, is the largest performing arts center in the southeastern United States. The center plays host to a wide variety of shows, including operas, musicals, dances, and conventions.

Heralding its entry into the national spotlight, Tampa will play host to Donald Trump’s newest undertaking. The Trump Towers of Tampa will be a 52-story building with 190 luxurious condominiums, and prices are anywhere from $700,000 to over $6 million. The construction of this high-rise signifies that Tampa is a widely respected, quickly growing city with a lot to offer to residents as well as visitors.

Visitors to Tampa can enjoy the convenience of Tampa International Airport, located right in the heart of the city. If Orlando is on your travel agenda, it’s only an hour away by car.
